Almost 30 years after the facts, a U.S. jury found Duane Davis guilty of the homicide of Tupac Shakur. The rapper was killed in 1996 in Las Vegas, at a time when Davis was a gang member.
The prosecution argued that Davis planned the attack against Tupac Shakur for revenge purposes. The District Attorney's Office presented the theory that the defendant organized the scheme that led to the fatal shooting of the artist.
The defense, for its part, claimed during the trial that there was no physical evidence linking Davis directly to the crime. The former gang member's lawyers sought to discredit the version presented by the prosecution.
The jury's verdict marks the end of nearly three decades of investigations and speculation surrounding the death of one of the most influential artists in the history of American hip-hop.
