The Earth is experiencing the most intense El Niño events in the last 1,000 years. An El Niño episode of historical proportions is forming in the tropical Pacific.
A study recently published by the University of Michigan, in the United States, revealed that this type of phenomenon has significantly increased its intensity in the last 40 years.
The research indicates that current El Niño events surpass in intensity any occurrence recorded in the last thousand years, representing a significant change in global climate patterns.
