A 41-year-old man from Iran, who had been suffering from urinary incontinence for about a month, tried to solve the problem by applying household superglue to his own urethra. The patient spent two weeks applying the adhesive to the urinary canal, in a desperate attempt to seal the leak. Although the method initially worked, the glue hardened quickly, forming a dense plug that caused total urinary retention.
The man endured a week of intense pain in the abdominal region before seeking care at an outpatient clinic. Upon examining him, the doctors were perplexed by the situation. The patient's penis was erect, with a rigid foreign object perceptible under the skin and brittle fragments of glue at the openings.
The outcome was an emergency that required surgery for the removal of a 10-centimeter hardened glue block, which completely prevented the flow of urine. The case was documented in a clinical report published in the medical journal "Caspian Journal of Internal Medicine".
