The IC8 was reopened to traffic after a collision that occurred in the district of Leiria, in the municipality of Ansião. The accident caused two dead and three seriously injured.

More than 40 operatives and 15 vehicles were mobilized to the accident site, including two VMER vehicles and a helicopter. The competent authorities ensured the emergency and rescue response for the victims.
