The first day of September begins with the formation of an extratropical cyclone that causes rain and thunderstorms in the South, Southeast, and Midwest regions of Brazil. The meteorological phenomenon brings with it wind gusts and risk of severe storms for several areas of Brazilian territory.
In the South Region, the advance of a mass of cold and dry air causes temperatures to drop. Meanwhile, in the North and Northeast regions, the heat persists, with highs that can reach 41°C in Piauí.
In the Southeast Region, there is a forecast of rain showers with thunderstorms, wind gusts, and hail, mainly in western São Paulo, the Triângulo Mineiro, southern Goiás, and parts of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. Rio de Janeiro will also have rain with thunderstorms.
Espírito Santo, mainly in the northern part, and north-central Minas Gerais are more protected from this scenario, with less intense cloud cover forecast for these areas.
