President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will receive on Monday night a group of prominent businesspeople for a dinner at the Alvorada Palace. The goal of the leftist, who is seeking reelection, is to show that he has dialogue with GDP representatives. The dinner was organized by the PT president and coordinator of Lula's campaign, Edinho Silva, and by the Finance Minister, Dario Durigan. According to Lula's aides, the meeting will have a total of 15 guests.
Expected at the meeting, among others, are brothers Joesley and Wesley Batista, from holding company J&F; José Seripieri Júnior, owner of Amil; Fabio Moraes, from Votorantim; Richard Gerdau, from Gerdau; Luiz Carlos Trabuco, chairman of the board of Bradesco; André Esteves, chairman of the board of BTG; Rubens Ometto, from Cosan; Rubens Menin, from MRV; Eraí Maggi, from Bom Futuro Group; and José Luís Cutrale, from Cutrale.
Vice President Geraldo Alckmin will also attend the dinner. The campaign had considered an alternative for the meeting, but decided to keep the meeting at the Alvorada Palace.
