Renan Santos, Missão's presidential candidate, called "illegal" the decision by Justice Dias Toffoli that suspended his participation in debates and vetoed the use of electoral fund resources. According to the minister, Renan's campaign used irregular profiles on social media to conduct electoral campaigns.
Toffoli wrote that Missão only reported the existence of 16 channels on social media twelve days after the candidacy registration. This would violate electoral legislation and court resolutions, which determine the obligation to report profiles at the time of registration.
The candidate released a video talking about the determination and called the delay in reporting the profiles on social media a "technical problem." He stated that hundreds of other candidates, perhaps thousands, also had technical problems during the registration of their candidacies.
