Banker André Esteves, partner at BTG Pactual, met with American President Donald Trump last Saturday, the 29th. The information was published by the newspaper Metrópoles and confirmed by GLOBO. The meeting took place at the luxurious Trump National Golf Club, located near Washington, and featured the participation of White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

According to Esteves's interlocutors, Trump asked about Brazilian elections, Brazil's economic development, and investment opportunities, especially in sectors such as rare earths. Esteves told the American president that the Brazilian electoral system is completely reliable, the same response that President Lula had given Trump during a phone call on August 21st.

During the encounter, they also discussed Venezuela and the situation in Latin America in general. The Palace of the Presidency was informed by André Esteves about the agenda with the United States president.

Government reserves R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in 2027

The Lula government reserved R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in the 2027 Annual Budget Bill (PLOA), an increase of R$ 4 billion compared to the proposal for 2026. The amount is expected to be higher after Congressional approval, since in 2026, R$ 40.8 billion was reserved, but the approved amount reached R$ 50 billion. Mandatory amendments are those the government is obligated to pay, while non-mandatory ones depend on available space in the Budget. There are three types of amendments: individual, from state delegations, and from committees, each with its own rules for distribution and application.
