After the call between Presidents Lula and Donald Trump, the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, and of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Márcio Elias Rosa, met on Monday with the United States Trade Representative (USTR), Jamieson Greer. The meeting took place after the phone call between the two heads of state.
The Brazilian side reaffirmed its openness to dialogue with US authorities, in line with the historical ties of friendship and mutually beneficial trade that characterize relations between the two countries, according to a note released by the Lula government. Brazil sought to highlight the tradition of cooperation between the nations.
The meeting, however, ended without progress. The meeting did not result in any agreement or concrete commitment between the parties. No details were released about the specific topics discussed during the meeting.
