PS questions the exclusion of the Algarve from new business areas

Observador31 August 2026 at 19:46

The Socialist Party questioned the government about the exclusion of the Algarve from the new business areas announced by the executive. The socialists interpelled Minister Castro Almeida about this decision.

The locations announced by the government in July include two areas in the North of the country, two in the Center, one in Lisbon and one in the Alentejo. The Algarve region was left out of this list.

The Socialist Party expressed its disagreement with this geographical distribution, considering that the Algarve should have been included among the regions covered.

This issue arises in the context of a broader discussion about regional development and the distribution of investments and infrastructure across Portuguese territory.
