The President of the Regional Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, received today in audience, at Quinta Vigia, the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves. The minister's visit to the Autonomous Region of Madeira is due to the celebrations of the 148th anniversary of the Madeira PSP Regional Command.
Luís Neves was present at a lunch at the official residence of the President of the Regional Government, where the meeting with Miguel Albuquerque took place. The minister's visit to Madeira had as its main objective participating in the festivities related to the anniversary of the Madeiran PSP.
This type of ministerial visit to Portuguese autonomous regions usually occurs on significant dates for local authorities, strengthening the ties between the central government and regional governments. The Madeira PSP thus celebrated almost a century and a half of existence of its regional command.
