Minister Dias Toffoli of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) ordered the suspension of the campaign of Renan Santos, from the Missão party, for President of the Republic. The decision was made this Sunday and released on Monday (31). As rapporteur for the candidacy registration of Renan Santos, Toffoli imposed a series of restrictions on the Missão ticket.
According to the minister, irregular profiles would be disseminating content favorable to the candidate. Toffoli states that the measure aims to halt benefits that would have been obtained improperly due to the omission of the addresses of those responsible for the pages.
The decision suspends electoral propaganda, Electoral Fund transfers, and the participation of candidates in debates on radio, television, podcasts, and other platforms. The minister had postponed, over the weekend, the analysis of the candidacy registration of Renan.
In the decision, Toffoli states that the finding is sufficient to, in exercising general precautionary power, determine, ex officio, measures necessary to prevent the continuation of benefits obtained irregularly.
