The Municipal Chamber of Odemira will hold on September 8, at 11:00, at the Church of Mercy, a solemn commemorative session of the municipal holiday, during which municipal merit medals will be awarded to two citizens of the council.
António Manuel Nobre Louçã, from São Teotónio, will be distinguished for his contribution to the economic and agricultural development of the council, after having been at the head of the São Teotónio Agricultural Credit Bank for 40 years.
The teacher, sculptor, writer and cultural animator Deodato Inácio dos Santos also receives the municipal merit medal, recognizing the work he developed in the areas of culture, education and sports.
According to the local authority, these distinctions pay tribute to two citizens who, through their areas of activity, contributed significantly to the growth and enhancement of the council of Odemira.
