Cristiano Zanin, STF Minister, May Receive the Title of Citizen of Piauí

Supreme Court (STF) Minister Cristiano Zanin may receive the title of Citizen of Piauí. A legislative decree authored by three MDB deputies began to be processed this Monday (31) in the Legislative Assembly of Piauí.

The project was presented by MDB deputies from Piauí and seeks to recognize the services rendered by Zanin to the state. The proposal is currently under consideration in the Legislative Assembly of Piauí.

The granting of titles of Citizen of Piauí is a form of homage that the state offers to people who have contributed in some way to Piauí, even if they are not natives of the state.

Zanin was appointed as STF minister by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in 2022, after being approved by the Senate. He is a lawyer and became known for defending Lula in legal proceedings.
