Late payments by public entities in Portugal reached 706.1 million euros at the end of July, representing a significant increase of 140.7 million euros compared to the previous month.
The data was released through the budget execution summary published this Monday, which monitors the financial situation of the public sector.
The information was made available by the Budgetary Entity, the body that succeeded the Directorate-General for Budget (DGO) in responsibility for these figures. The significant growth in late payments indicates a worsening of the treasury situation of public entities during this period.
