Beto, former Portimonense player, is in Italy to finalize his transfer to Fiorentina. Beto arrived at Everton in 2023 from Udinese, but failed to establish himself as the first choice for the Toffees. Last season, the Portuguese was mostly understudy to Jordan Pickford, which is believed to have influenced his decision to seek a new sporting challenge.
The transfer represents Beto's return to Italian football, a country where he built much of his professional career. In addition to Udinese, the Portuguese keeper has also represented Paços de Ferreira, Arouca, and Portimonense before moving abroad.
