Beto, former Portimonense player, is in Italy to finalize his transfer to Fiorentina. The Portuguese goalkeeper will leave Everton to return to Serie A, a competition where he previously represented Udinese. Negotiations between the clubs are said to be quite advanced, with the transfer practically confirmed.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper traveled to Italy to undergo the necessary medical exams and sign the contract with the Florentine club. Fiorentina is looking to strengthen their goal after Bartlomiej Dragowski's departure to Olympiacos, thus needing an experienced goalkeeper for the new season.

Beto arrived at Everton in 2023 from Udinese, but failed to establish himself as the first choice for the Toffees. Last season, the Portuguese was mostly understudy to Jordan Pickford, which is believed to have influenced his decision to seek a new sporting challenge.

The transfer represents Beto's return to Italian football, a country where he built much of his professional career. In addition to Udinese, the Portuguese keeper has also represented Paços de Ferreira, Arouca, and Portimonense before moving abroad.
