Forward Guus Tensegtedt was sold by Feyenoord to Toulouse, but Benfica receives no money from this transfer, contrary to initial expectations. The Dutch player thus leaves the Netherlands after one season at Feyenoord.
Tensegtedt was linked to Benfica through a clause that should have guaranteed a percentage on future sales of the player. However, the conditions of that clause were not met in this transaction to Toulouse.
The 22-year-old forward had been on loan to Feyenoord since January 2024, and was then bought permanently by the Dutch club. His spell in the Netherlands now ends with the transfer to French football.
Benfica thus sees an opportunity for revenue that seemed assured escape, without the reasons why the red and white club did not financially benefit from this sale having been revealed.
