The Azores Local Accommodation Association (ALA) expressed concern today about the tourism activity results recorded in July, considering that the data continues to show significant losses in the sector. The association states that, despite some improvement compared to June, Local Accommodation continues to lose overnight stays and guests even during the peak season of São Miguel.
Faced with this situation, the ALA calls for a broader reflection on the tourism development model of the Azores region. The association believes it is necessary to debate in depth the strategies adopted for the regional tourism sector.
