ADN condemns CHEGA's possible censure motion "designed to produce headlines"

Funchal Notícias31 August 2026 at 17:17

The ADN party condemned the possible censure motion announced by Chega, considering it a late initiative and "designed to produce headlines". This position was expressed through an official party statement.

In the document, ADN demands the immediate resignation of the minister in question, without specifying the identity of the government official targeted by Chega's censure motion.

However, the party led by André Ventura warned that the country faces more serious problems that have never been the target of a similar initiative by Chega, suggesting that the censure motion does not address the true national priorities.

ADN's statement comes in reaction to Chega's decision to present a censure motion against the Executive, at a time the party considers late.

Government reserves R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in 2027

The Lula government reserved R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in the 2027 Annual Budget Bill (PLOA), an increase of R$ 4 billion compared to the proposal for 2026. The amount is expected to be higher after Congressional approval, since in 2026, R$ 40.8 billion was reserved, but the approved amount reached R$ 50 billion. Mandatory amendments are those the government is obligated to pay, while non-mandatory ones depend on available space in the Budget. There are three types of amendments: individual, from state delegations, and from committees, each with its own rules for distribution and application.
