The Porto district of the Chega Party assumes as a strategic priority to give greater attention and support to the interior of the Porto district. The political force intends to combat the isolation to which the Tâmega e Sousa region has been condemned by the major parties and successive governments.
The guarantee was given by Luís Couraceiro, district leader of Chega, in the balance sheet he made of the party's activity. Couraceiro criticized the way the region has been treated by traditional parties and the governments that have succeeded each other.
The party considers that Tâmega e Sousa is one of the most neglected areas of the country, lacking investment and adequate political representation. This bet on proximity to the interior emerges as one of the main axes of Chega's strategy for the Porto district.
