MPT investigates suspected electoral harassment after Luciano Hang speaks about ending the 6x1 schedule to Havan employees

oglobo31 August 2026 at 16:51

The Labor Prosecution Office (MPT) has opened a Fact Report to investigate a possible case of electoral harassment after receiving a recording in which businessman Luciano Hang, owner of the Havan retail chain, gathers employees in Caldas Novas (GO) and speaks about the proposal to end the 6x1 work schedule. In the video, Hang claims that the change would increase labor costs, reduce workers' purchasing power, and force some of them to seek a second job.

When criticizing the proposal, Hang calls the measure "electoral fraud" and claims that politicians want workers' votes in the October elections. The businessman is known as a supporter of former President Jair Bolsonaro.

The recording came to the MPT's attention on Monday, which confirmed it had become aware of the content and decided to open an investigation to determine whether there had been political coercion over the chain's employees. The Fact Report is the first step in the investigation, which may or may not result in a formal investigation.

Government reserves R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in 2027

The Lula government reserved R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in the 2027 Annual Budget Bill (PLOA), an increase of R$ 4 billion compared to the proposal for 2026. The amount is expected to be higher after Congressional approval, since in 2026, R$ 40.8 billion was reserved, but the approved amount reached R$ 50 billion. Mandatory amendments are those the government is obligated to pay, while non-mandatory ones depend on available space in the Budget. There are three types of amendments: individual, from state delegations, and from committees, each with its own rules for distribution and application.
