'So what if she's from PT?': Cleitinho schedules agenda with mayor who declared support for his candidacy, celebrating the visit

Senator and candidate for governor of Minas Gerais, Cleitinho Azevedo (Republicanos), defended that, even being on the right, his "heart is for everyone," when participating in a campaign event alongside the mayor of Frei Gaspar (MG), Jackeliny Nascimento (PT), who declared support for his candidacy for state government, last Saturday, in the municipality. Cleitinho stated that the negative reaction came quickly after the support was announced, with articles questioning the alliance because she is from PT.

Jackeliny Nascimento caused an internal reaction in PT by posting on social media a campaign flyer showing the candidate next to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The mayor is affiliated with PT, a party that does not support Cleitinho in the race for governor of Minas, which makes the declaration of support a break with the party.

In a post on social media, Cleitinho spoke in the city and stated that he refuses the environment of "polarization within the country." The senator has already declared support for presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro (PL), a political opponent of President Lula, which highlights the contradiction of the alliance with a PT mayor.

Cleitinho celebrated the visit and the support of the mayor, downplaying the criticisms by stating that party affiliation does not matter. The article also mentions that, according to polls, Cleitinho appears ahead in the race for governor of Minas, with polarization losing strength in the state.

Government reserves R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in 2027

The Lula government reserved R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in the 2027 Annual Budget Bill (PLOA), an increase of R$ 4 billion compared to the proposal for 2026. The amount is expected to be higher after Congressional approval, since in 2026, R$ 40.8 billion was reserved, but the approved amount reached R$ 50 billion. Mandatory amendments are those the government is obligated to pay, while non-mandatory ones depend on available space in the Budget. There are three types of amendments: individual, from state delegations, and from committees, each with its own rules for distribution and application.
