The leader of the National Prison Guard Corps Union (SNCGP) denounced delays in the modernization of the prison establishment.

The union leader considered that the escape would not have happened if the guards had been on strike that day.

The situation stems from a context of two years after the incident that marked Vale de Judeus prison.
