Time runs short and difficulties increase for rescuers in Nepal

The difficulties are considerable for the rescuers who continue to dig in Nepal, stuck in gray and sticky mud, sometimes up to their waists, looking for increasingly unlikely survivors of the catastrophic flood that hit the north of the country.

The rescue work continues for the sixth day in the affected district of Nuwakot, where the situation remains extremely complicated. The deputy chief of the rescue team for the district, police officer E. Hawadi, listed the challenges that the rescuers face.

According to the official, the roads were completely destroyed by the flood, with no access route now existing. This destruction of road infrastructure significantly complicates the rescue operations and the transport of equipment and people to the affected area.
