The municipalities in Piauí that joined the UNICEF Seal have until the 31st to meet the active school search goals. The alert was issued by the State Court of Auditors of Piauí (TCE-PI), which monitors compliance with the obligations related to the program.
The active school search is an initiative aimed at identifying children and adolescents of school age who are out of classrooms or at risk of dropping out, ensuring access and retention of these students in education. Participating municipalities need to demonstrate concrete results in this area to maintain the UNICEF Seal.
TCE-PI is closely monitoring the situation and reinforces the importance of municipalities adopting effective measures to locate and reintegrate these students into the educational system. Failure to meet the goals may result in implications for municipal managers.
The UNICEF Seal is an international certification that recognizes Brazilian municipalities that implement effective public policies for children and adolescents, with the active school search being one of the fundamental requirements for obtaining and maintaining this distinction.
