The Missão party filed a motion with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) calling "null" the decision by Minister Dias Toffoli that postponed the ruling on the candidacy registration of Renan Santos for President of the Republic. The minister removed the case from the docket on Saturday, two days before the ruling that was scheduled to begin this Monday (31).
Toffoli pointed to possible irregularities in the information presented by Renan Santos about the accounts used on social media during the electoral campaign. According to the minister, there are signs of possible non-compliance with electoral legislation, which requires candidates to report the accounts used for internet campaigning.
According to the article, Toffoli identified that Renan Santos and the vice-presidential candidate, Aroldo Medina, reported 18 social media accounts in documents submitted to the TSE on August 19. However, in the registration request submitted earlier, on August 7, the number of reported accounts was different, raising suspicions about inconsistencies in the data presented.
