The Vila-real City Council approved unanimously this Monday a mayoral proposal to demand that the regional government maintain the Family Meeting Point (PEF) in the city. The decision comes after the announcement that the regional government intends to replace the current location with a new point in Onda, as part of the regional planning for the 2026-2028 period.
The PEF in Vila-real currently provides services to citizens residing in the municipalities that are part of the judicial districts of Vila-real and Nules. The municipal corporation plenary closed ranks to try to prevent the city from losing this essential resource.
The mayoral proposal was approved with the favorable vote of all political parties represented on the city council, demonstrating a unanimous position of the city on this issue. The city council hopes that the Department of Social Services, Family and Childhood will reconsider its decision and maintain the service in Vila-real.
