Minister Bruno Dantas will officialize on Monday his departure from the Court of Accounts of the Union (TCU), opening the path for the Senate to accelerate the indication of former president of the House Rodrigo Pacheco (PSB-MG) for the vacancy and try to conclude the choice still this week. The movement occurs during the concentrated effort of Congress and finds an already assembled articulation by the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), who has been working for months to bring his predecessor to the court.
Allies of Alcolumbre affirm that the president of the Senate has not yet received the formal communication of Dantas's departure, but indicate that he intends to deliberate on the succession as soon as that occurs. The coincidence with the concentrated effort is considered favorable to the operation, since the senators will be in Brasília and there will be quorum for a series of votes.
Pacheco's name is treated by members of the House as a choice of interest of the Senate's own leaders. In the surroundings of the Minas Gerais senator, interlocutors stated that he was already showing willingness for the transition since the period when he was leaving the presidency of the House.
