IRS: Deadline to pay 2025 tax ends today

The deadline for taxpayers to pay additional income tax (IRS) related to 2025 earnings ends this Monday, August 31st. This is the deadline set for the settlement of this tax.

The same date also serves as the deadline for the Tax Authority to process refunds related to declarations that were submitted within the legal deadline.

From the IRS settlement, there may be tax to pay, a refund, or no amount, depending on each taxpayer's financial situation.

Ludgero Marques: Seguro remembers a prominent figure of business associations

President of the Republic António José Seguro expressed deep sorrow over the death of Ludgero Marques, at age 88, describing him as one of the most prominent figures in Portuguese business associations. Ludgero Marques led the Portuense Industrial Association between 1985 and 2008, a period during which the institution transformed into the Business Association of Portugal. A native of Santa Maria da Feira, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Porto and headed several companies, including the taps and ceramics manufacturer Cifial. He received several honorary distinctions, including the rank of Grand-Officer of the Order of Prince Henry. The funeral will be held at the Matrix Church of Rio Meão, followed by the crematorium in Aveiro.
