Macedo de Cavaleiros Hosted the National Contest of the Mirandesa Breed

Macedo de Cavaleiros hosted for three days the National Contest of Mirandesa Breed Cattle, an event that brought together breeders and specimens of this breed with strong ties to the identity and agricultural activity of Trás-os-Montes.

The initiative resulted from a partnership between the Municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros and the Association of Mirandesa Breed Cattle Breeders, ending with the awarding of prizes to animals distinguished for their quality, also recognizing the work carried out by the producers.

At the closing, officials from ACBRM, CCDR-NORTE, and the Municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the Mirandesa Breed, as well as the role of breeders in the continuity of this agricultural and economic heritage of the region.

The contest thus once again brought into focus one of the most emblematic breeds of the Trás-os-Montes territory, enhancing local production and the activity of its breeders.
