The president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, harshly criticized this Monday the Spanish Government's response to the latest episodes of migratory pressure registered in the autonomous city. Vivas considered that the situation exceeded the strictly migratory scope and directly affected the security and territorial integrity of Ceuta.
The autonomist president qualified the central Executive's actions as "incomprehensible, inexplicable and unacceptable." He argued that the Government's response was not proportional to the gravity of the circumstances the city faced.
Vivas demanded greater involvement of the Spanish State in what he considered to be exceptional circumstances. The official insisted on the need for more resources to deal with migratory pressure in the autonomous city.
