The Grande Prémio Douro Internacional returned to Lamego for its sixth edition, with a first stage that linked Vila Real to the city of Remédios along 145.6 kilometres. The race returned this Saturday to the roads of the region.
The American cyclist Keegan Swirbul, who represents the Efapel Cycling team, achieved the victory by beating Jesús Del Pino in a sprint at the finish line installed on Avenida Regimento de Infantaria 9. This victory allowed him to take the lead of the general classification of the race.
With this result, Swirbul reached the first position in the overall standings of the GP Douro Internacional for the first time. The competition continues in the coming days with new stages that promise to define the rider who will wear the yellow jersey at the end of the race.
