Badajoz will be connected to the national network of Rede Expressos through the Elvas–Lisbon corridor, in a new cross-border operation that begins on September 11. The service will have two daily trips in each direction, with departures from Badajoz at 07:15 and 13:30, and from Lisbon at 14:30 and 17:30.
The journey includes passage through five Alentejo towns: Elvas, Borba, Estremoz, Évora and Montemor-o-Novo, continuing then to Lisbon. This integration allows passengers from Extremadura to not only arrive directly at these towns, but also use the existing connections in the Portuguese network to continue their journey to other national destinations, including Lisbon Airport.
The operation was presented by Alentrium.pt and reinforces a cross-border corridor particularly relevant for relations between the Alentejo and Extremadura. Cross-border travel in this region is associated with tourism and leisure, but also with economic, commercial and professional relations between the two sides of the border. The new offer was made available through Rede Expressos' sales channels.
