The social democratic parliamentarian harshly criticized the Chega party for the motion of censure request, using a metaphor to express his position: according to Cristovão Norte, using a motion of censure is like "using an axe where a scalpel will do," suggesting that it is an excessive and disproportionate measure.
The PSD's position contrasts with Chega's stance, which chose to formally present the motion of censure against the Government, at a time when the Luís Neves case continues to generate political debate in Portugal.
