The government intends to end the perpetuation of undivided inheritances and property blockage. This intention was analyzed in a previous article by the publication. Undivided inheritances occur when heirs cannot reach an agreement on the division of assets left by a deceased person, resulting in the joint and often indefinite maintenance of those assets. Property blockage refers to the situation in which real estate and other assets are prevented from being sold, divided, or used by heirs for long periods. The governmental measure aims to create mechanisms to force or facilitate the division of these assets, allowing the property to cease being indefinitely suspended in a co-ownership situation.
