Sánchez confirms the approval in the Council of Ministers of a plan with 168 million for the recovery of Ceuta

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General31 August 2026 at 09:11

The Council of Ministers is expected to approve this Tuesday an aid plan for Ceuta worth 168 million euros. The plan aims to recover normality and boost the situation in the autonomous city after the massive entry of approximately 72,000 migrants in the last month.

Pedro Sánchez confirmed the approval of this plan during an interview this Monday on Cadena Ser. The Spanish Prime Minister thus officially announced the implementation of support measures for the city.

The aid plan will also have repercussions for Melilla, specifically regarding business bonuses. This measure seeks to support the business fabric of the two Spanish autonomous cities in African territory.

The situation in Ceuta, a Spanish city in North Africa, has been marked by a significant migratory crisis, with the entry of tens of thousands of people in a short period of time, which motivated the need for an economic and social recovery plan by the Spanish government.

Government reserves R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in 2027

The Lula government reserved R$ 44.8 billion for parliamentary amendments in the 2027 Annual Budget Bill (PLOA), an increase of R$ 4 billion compared to the proposal for 2026. The amount is expected to be higher after Congressional approval, since in 2026, R$ 40.8 billion was reserved, but the approved amount reached R$ 50 billion. Mandatory amendments are those the government is obligated to pay, while non-mandatory ones depend on available space in the Budget. There are three types of amendments: individual, from state delegations, and from committees, each with its own rules for distribution and application.
