The authorities in Chitwan district, Nepal, began on Saturday burying unidentified flood victims in temporary graves. This measure was taken due to lack of space in the available burial sites.
Approximately 250 corpses remained waiting for identification by families. Forensic teams were working to determine the victims' identities, in a process that would later allow the bodies to be claimed by their relatives.
The situation highlights the scale of the tragedy caused by the floods in Nepal, where authorities face significant logistical challenges in dealing with the high number of fatalities resulting from the catastrophe.
