Tori, stage name of Vitória Nogueira, is a 26-year-old singer and songwriter from Aracaju, Sergipe, who is winning over the audience in Rio de Janeiro with her arrocha show. Raised in the Northeast, she grew up listening to arrocha and axé, but was also exposed to artists like Gal Costa, Novos Baianos, and Caetano Veloso, with whom she connected in her adolescence when she received the album "Transa".
The artist had a successful season in July at Indecente Café, in Santa Teresa, with sold-out nights, and returns to the venue on Saturdays in September, starting on the 5th. Her shows' repertoire includes songs by Calcinha Preta, Asas Morenas, and a version of Roberto Carlos, in addition to her own compositions. "The band has other Northeasterners and it's a repertoire that is ingrained in us," she explained.
Tori started wanting to learn piano as a child, inspired by a soap opera, but it was on the guitar that she found her musical path. She sought an initial technical foundation and then continued investing in a self-taught manner, using the instrument to compose more freely and without much technique.
