Sporting secured the Record International Masters Futsal 2026 by defeating Jimbee Cartagena 6-2 at Portimão Arena in front of a packed house. Nuno Dias's team came out firing, scoring two goals in just 25 seconds. Diogo Santos opened the scoring at 4.23 seconds and scored again at 24.32 seconds, putting the Lions up 2-0. Felipe Rufino made it 3-0 at 14 minutes, before Juninho pulled one back for Jimbee Cartagena. Rafael Ruela added the fourth before halftime, a result with which the teams went into the break.

In the second half, Sporting controlled possession better and managed the lead. Rocha scored the fifth goal at 25 minutes from a corner, and Wesley extended the lead to 6-1 late in the game, taking advantage of an error from the opponent when Jimbee Cartagena were using a flying goalkeeper. Agustin Plaza still reduced the deficit to 6-2 near the end, from a direct free kick, but without threatening the Portuguese side's victory. The team finished the competition with six points, two wins, 11 goals scored and four conceded.

Diogo Santos, author of the first two goals of the match, finished as the tournament's top scorer with three goals and was also named the best player. The player said he feels proud and is doing his job to help the team, emphasizing that the collective always comes first. Merlim also highlighted the importance of starting the season with a trophy, noting that the Super Cup is already coming up.

The victory allowed Sporting to lift the trophy for the fourth time, after the titles won in 2018, 2022 and 2025, succeeding themselves in the list of winners. In this year's edition, the team had also defeated Palma Futsal 5-2 in the opening match. Benfica finished in second place with three points, followed by Palma also with three points, while Jimbee Cartagena finished the standings without a point. Across the four matches of the tournament, 27 goals were scored.
