Flamengo signed the purchase of striker Joaquín Freitas, 19 years old, from River Plate for 8 million euros, equivalent to a little over R$ 41 million. The Argentine team will maintain 20% of the athlete's economic rights. The agreement between the clubs includes bonuses for goals, and the contract will last five seasons.

The young Uruguayan travels to Brazil this Monday to complete the final procedures and should be registered in time to participate in the Libertadores competition. Freitas's arrival represents a significant investment by Flamengo in young promises from South American football.

Earlier, Anthony Valencia, 23 years old, arrived in Rio de Janeiro to undergo medical exams and sign a contract with Flamengo. The Ecuadorian was at Royal Antwerp, from Belgium, and the Brazilian club reached an agreement to hire him for 5 million euros, around R$ 30 million.

Both payments will be made in three installments by Flamengo, easing the immediate financial impact on the club's cash flow. With the two signings, the Rubro-Negro reinforces its attack for the upcoming seasons, seeking prestigious titles like the Libertadores.
