The leader of PS, José Luís Carneiro, accused Luís Montenegro of trying to whitewash what he classifies as "chaos" in national exams. The accusation arose during a visit to Grândola, in the district of Setúbal.
José Luís Carneiro responded directly to Montenegro, at a time when the opposition has been criticizing the Government's management of educational matters. National exams have faced organizational problems in recent years.
In addition to this accusation, the socialist leader once again criticized the executive for failing to resolve problems related to the cost of living. This issue has been one of PS's main banners in opposing the current Government.
The visit to Grândola is part of a round of contacts by the Socialist Party across the country, during which José Luís Carneiro has sought to set the political agenda and respond to the Government's criticisms.
