The Castro de Romariz, one of the most expressive archaeological sites in the Entre Douro e Vouga region and a reference of the Castro culture of the Northwest Peninsula, will open its doors on September 19 and 20 to celebrate the origins and memories of the first peoples who occupied Monte Crasto more than 2,500 years ago: the Túrdulos Velhos.
The cultural event "Castro de Romariz: the Origins" includes theater, music, guided and staged visits, workshops, lectures and themed concerts, held in the settlement itself and surrounding area. The program takes place symbolically on the eve of the autumn equinox.
All activities are free and include interactive workshops on metals, cooking and pottery, which take place during the morning and afternoon, with offerings for all ages.
The event is organized by the Santa Maria da Feira City Hall, in partnership with the Romariz Parish Council.
