Paulo Portas commented on the acquisition of 13.7% of the capital of REN (Redes Energéticas Nacionais) by the Portuguese State.

Portas's comment came following the official announcement of the Government's entry into the national energy networks company.

According to the analyst, the operation "reveals talent" due to the complexity of satisfying the interests of international shareholders from different origins.

Portas considered that it is "difficult to conduct an operation in an international company that leaves the Chinese, Americans and Europeans satisfied" at the same time.

Portugal in the "A club": the rating that the market cannot ignore

Portugal reached an A+ rating with a positive outlook, which represents a significant milestone in the country's economic recovery. This rating is not merely technical but reflects a structural shift in the perception of international markets, which now consider Portugal a stable capital destination and no longer a risk periphery. The elevated rating translates into better financing conditions for the State, Portuguese companies and families, attracting foreign investment and reinforcing confidence in the national economy. The rise to the so-called "A club" thus symbolizes the consolidation of the fiscal sustainability path and Portugal's return to the radar of major global investors.

The text argues that certain migration policies are treated differently depending on who proposes them: if defended by the right, they are immediately labelled as fascist, xenophobic or racist, but when defended by the left, they are viewed with naivety and accepted without the same scrutiny.
