The Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, published photographs allegedly taken inside a prison, accompanied by the message that he is "resisting". The publication comes at a time of political tension in Venezuela.
The photographs released were taken, according to the camera's date and time stamp, on June 25, a day after the double earthquake that hit Venezuela.
The authenticity of the images and the circumstances in which they were taken could not be independently verified.
Maduro's post comes in a context of contestation of the electoral results that gave victory to opposition presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia, according to multiple international organizations.
