SC Beira-Mar will host Belenenses in the second round of the Cup of Portugal, a match scheduled for September 20. The clash will take place in Aveiro, the city that will host this reunion between two historic teams of Portuguese football, which have faced each other on numerous occasions in the main competitions of the national sport.
The last game between the two teams dates back to the 2012-13 season, for the League Cup, with a 1-0 victory for Belenenses. In the previous round of the Cup of Portugal, Belenenses traveled to Évora and eliminated Lusitano 1-2, with 0-1 at halftime. The 'Azuis' team has four wins this season, totaling 9 points in Liga 3.
As for Beira-Mar, from a lower division, the Aveiro team eliminated in the first round União de Lamas through penalties, with a result of 5-4, after the scoreboard showed a three-goal draw at the end of extra time.
In the same competition, Oliveirense, also from Liga 3 and the Aveiro region, eliminated on Saturday Penalva de Castelo, a team from the Viseu district league, with a 4-0 home victory.
