The Government Council of the Azores approved the allocation of support to farmers worth three million euros. This funding had been announced at the end of July by the Republic's Government to compensate for the increase in production costs in the agricultural sector.
The support is specifically aimed at Azorean farmers who face financial difficulties due to rising production costs. The measure comes as a response to the economic pressures affecting the primary sector in the region.
The regional government's decision thus fulfills the promise previously made by the Republic's executive. This coordination between the regional and Republic's governments demonstrates the joint commitment to support the Azorean agricultural sector in a context of increasing operational costs.
