The District Political Commission of Bragança of the PSD reacted with satisfaction to the Prime Minister's announcement, Luís Montenegro, about the creation of the University of Bragança, considering the decision a historic milestone for the Interior and for the Northeast Trás-os-Montes. The social democrats argue that the creation of the new institution recognizes the trajectory and work developed by the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança over recent decades, as well as the quality of its academic community.

The district PSD believes that the decision may have impacts on the region's economic and social development, namely through the ability to attract and retain young people, researchers, and qualified professionals, in addition to strengthening the connection between knowledge, businesses, and existing resources in the territory. The party structure also considers that the measure represents a concrete commitment to valuing the Interior, noting that territorial cohesion is achieved through concrete decisions, political courage, and investment in territories.

The social democrats of Bragança believe that the future university may contribute to the creation of qualified employment, to strengthening innovation, and to attracting investment, positioning itself as an instrument of regional development. The District Political Commission classifies the decision as one of the most important measures of recent decades for the future of the Northeast Trás-os-Montes, considering that Bragança and the region now have more reasons to believe in the future.
