Besiktas initiated contacts for Marc Casadó, the 22-year-old defensive midfielder from Barcelona, at a time when the player is beginning to attract interest from several European clubs. The Spanish international is represented by Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, who is reportedly working on a solution for the player to leave the Catalan club.
Benfica also expressed interest in the player, having even been considered as an alternative to João Palhinha, when the signing of the Portuguese international was not yet finalized. With Palhinha's arrival at the Luz completed, Casadó is no longer an immediate priority for the Eagles, but remains on their radar.
The player is viewed by the red side's structure as a footballer with highly valued characteristics and with room for future value appreciation. Casadó's situation has now gained new development, with several clubs keeping an eye on his future at Barcelona.
