In statements to BTV, the Cameroonian international did not hide her satisfaction with the individual distinction, which she considers to be recognition of all the work developed throughout the competition. Michaely stated that it is a great achievement, the result of a lot of hard work and sacrifice, and that it represents a feeling of great pride.

It was Michaely Bihina's first international competition with the Cameroon national team, and finishing as the best goalkeeper is for her a source of great pride. Benfica's goalkeeper was one of the standout figures in Cameroon's victorious run in the competition.
