Fernando Pimenta achieved the world champion title in the K1 5,000 meters event, during the competition held in Poznan. This result represents another important achievement in the career of the Portuguese canoeing athlete.
With this victory, Portugal finished the event participation with a total of four podiums. Besides Pimenta\'s gold in the 5,000 meters, the Portuguese team had already secured gold medals in K1 1,000 meters, silver in K2 500 meters, and bronze in K4 500 meters.
The competition in Poznan demonstrated the positive moment of Portuguese canoeing, with consistent results across different categories and distances. Fernando Pimenta stood out particularly by winning in two of the events he participated in.
